Didn't care for the sound of the 7.3 powerstroke of my 96 with only a straight pipe. Talked to a few guys about some exhaust systems and really didn't want to spend alot. Found a guy that was selling the aero turbine muffler at a farm show, I purchased one and was very impressed with the deep throaty sound. It seemed to take away the powerstroke straight pipe sound. Did not see any fuel mileage gain, but my truck had a 4:10 rear end. A magnaflow system is on the 05 powerstroke that i had just bought and in time i will change out the magnaflo muffler with the 4040 aero turbine. I bought an '03 dodge diesel with one of these on it already, it sounded great, until the muffler itself broke in two. I took it out and installed a straight piece of pipe in it's place, there's little to no difference in the sound of the truck. I spent around $45 bucks for the pipe, couplings, and clamps. So if it's legal in your state to run without a muffler go my route and save some money

"Wow what an impressive exhaust! My Ford F350 Powerstroke Diesel hawls like a beast. I replaced my stock muffler with the Aero Turbine 4040 muffler and some straight pipe by just simply clamping it on, the Truck sounds great, runs great, and can't believe what it is saving me at the gas pump. It just about paid for itself in the fuel savings. I have tested several mufflers on my other diesel trucks and vehicles and all I can say is if anyone is thinking about getting a Magnaflow, a Flowmaster, or Borla sytem, I can guarantee that the Aero Exhaust will blow anything they have out of the water."
